Caleb Lankford
Master of Science in Natural Sciences – Biology and Physical Science
Greenville, Mississippi
If you need Caleb, you can most likely find him outside. He is fascinated with the ways nature intersects with our everyday lives, and in particular how youth view and value the natural world. He believes that access to green spaces and engaging science education are necessary for younger generations to foster a sense of planetary stewardship.
Caleb grew up in Midlothian, VA, but now calls Greenville, MS, home. He attended Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. After graduating, Caleb moved to Mississippi to teach science at Greenville High School. During his 5 years at GHS, he taught Zoology, Genetics, Botany, Marine & Aquatic Science, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and AP Environmental Science.
Caleb is working to create school gardens at Weddington Elementary and Greenville High School. In addition to the garden spaces, Caleb hopes to create experiences where students can encounter nature by implementing a garden-based science curriculum within classrooms.
